Add to the list of worn out stuff for my $500 1990 F-250 4x4. The outboard u-joints on the front axles are both very sloppy. I have a Haynes manual and I guess Ill have to rent or buy the spindle nut wrench. OK, I don't expect anyone to give a step by step procedure, but I would like to hear from voices of experience about pitfalls and tricks for this job.
Thanks guys. and by the way the brake leak was a rusted out line leading from the proportioning valve mounted on the frame rail up front (or is it the RAB vale?) back to the rear axle. I will replace the whole line and the one that crosses over between the front brakes.
Does Ford stock these lines pre-bent or should I get a tubing bender?
