I guess I don't relly care, sorry. If my drums still stop me good enough. (LOL) I don't personally see the point, now adding air brakes that may be cool (LOL)

The older Ford trucks had very poor brakes when new and the years of use and age didn`t improve them so if the power train is upgraded then the brakes must be as well.
Laynrubber really liked his.

Obviously never driven a International?

I guess after tears of driven my 58 International Ford don't seem too bad to me. I guess if brakes are giving a problem on a truck very worth while to change.

I guess if I had a automatic it would be very worth while but with down shifting and coasting I guess I never had a problm.

On a stock truck the orginal brakes are usually just good enough to keep you out of trouble with carefull driving.
By adding more horepower I want alot better brakes and steering then what my 56M100 came with.

That is very true, plus with a automatic it isn't as fun with orignal drums, eh?

On anything newer than about 65/67 the stock drum brakes are fairly adequate unless doing alot of towing.
It`s the older trucks that need a much better brake system (disc or drum), especially if a more powerful engine is installed. It`s too easy to drive faster and harder then what the brakes are capable of handling.

My drums needed work, they weren't auto adjusting, and i really the safety of a dual master cylinder. Well worth the $1000 beans.

Shaune, what did you find out with the problem on your F100 disc brakes?

Found that the pad had frozen to the disc and when i went to back up the pad sheared off from the rivets and fell on the ground. I stepped on the brake and the piston went out further.....pedal went to the floor.....I said what the %$#@$#.
Hortons reembursed me $26 for the $65 NAPA pads.
There was no fluid loss and now if i have the same problem NAPA is right here and Kelly says i have full warranty.
I think it is because there is no shield and snow piled into the back side of the rim.
