Talking Feedback

Has anybody here in the FTE ever bought any aftermarket door weatherstrip? I haven't priced oe parts. Can get aftermarket from $50 to $70 for both doors.
But do the aftermarket fit well. Do they use the seam from outter rocker panle like oe. Or are they all going to use a two sided tape, or yellow (monkey snot) wweatherstrip adhesive?????
help me out boys.

If you're willing to look hard enough, you can find a good replacement in some parts stores...I'm still kind of new to the area...I know where to find it in Phoenix! Good replacement rolls can be found.

If I went and bought new weatherstripping, I'd probably end up ordering online. LMC Trucks has a catalog they'll mail you, and the weatherstripping is all made to fit your truck. It sure beats the DIY kind that we sell at the hardware store.

I have an lmc catalog. But it dosen't tell how they fit. Are they like the factory parts, or a stick on tipe. The factory is held on by the metal seam, and uses the plate on the floor that would also hold carpet or rubber mat down. I also need that plate.

I think most of the stuff from LMC is direct factory replacement. Don't take my word on it though. They probably have the plate you need too.

Thanks, haven't heard back from any of the FTE sponsors such as Blue Oval. My toy isn't a show truck by any means, but nice looking. Don't want to fool with a stick on type weatherstrip.
really enjoy the sight. Looking forward to meeting you and others when things thaw out. We here in southwest mo are waiting for another storm that should be here by saturday. Allready have weather warnings on tv.

Check out Sofseal (I think that's the name) They do nothing but weatherstrip, and they do reproduction for many of the muscle cars, show winning stuff. I doubt the reproduction shops will do the two sided tape thing, they have a better rep than that, and know the buyers demand excellence on restoration parts.

I just looked, and it looks to be a dealer item, couldn't find a direct site for them...

Smile SoffSeal

Did a little playing and found www.soffseal.com they have the door weatherstrip I'm looking for. But will it fit like factory? If they're doing work for show vehicles I'm sure it's good stuff.
Aftermarket runs abour $60. Soffseal is $90, but if it mounts right that isn't bad. I'm gonna wait to see what my buddy can get for me.
Thanks
Bob

That's them, missed one f... but all they do is weather stripping, so they HAVE to be quality to be in the business for at least 20 years that I know...
Just looked, 40 years in the business...
