I was watching the other night and things were going pretty cheap. Mind you there wasn't anything special but still, you couldn't build those vehicles for what they were selling for.
I talked to a guy who is going this year and he said there will be some nice old musclecars coming through closer to the weekend.
BTW you need to have a $50,000 US line of credit to get a bidders paddle and then the $500 entrance fee for the event! You can actually look at the cars that way. Otherwise you can go as a spectator for I believe a couple hundred dollars, but you're sitting in the nosebleed section.
a 68 shelby sold for 202,000 dollars...i was just reading that on CNN news
a cougar sold for 128,000 bucks... something like a 59 convetible cadillac sold for over 400,000 but they said the owner bought it, was found dead in the trunk, and it sat in a warehouse until now...original tires, original battery...everything brand new still
here is the link...
Some of the prices have gone out of control! I find it interesting how different things are valued - say with the musclecars (big block 4 speed cars especially) --> recreations of these are bringing more money than numbers matching all original versions with more mundane drivetrains.
I was suprised when that Hummer went for so much, but the charity ones usually bring a whole lot of money. And how bout that 66 Shelby "Super Snake" it jumped from $600,000 to $1,300,000! Ended up at $5,000,000!!!
I would've liked that pair of Mustangs that they sold together. I think they were both bosss. One was a 429 and a 302 . They looked like they were both black in color. 1969 and 1970 are my favorite years.
Something funny is that mine are only average, aren`t anywhere that nice and they don`t see the road very often either.
They`re garage queens and safely tucked away mostly due to lack of time.
thats pretty awsome though... I worked with a guy that was paying $1100 a month on his car payment for a WS6 trans am...350 HP factory
I have had cars that had similar HP, but they spun the rear tires instead of sticking and going
Those guys buying them super expensive collectibles probably drive new ones and collect the older ones... I'd take either HAHA
Just not at over a grand a month...
Imagine the truck(s) you could build if you stuck that kinda money into them
im not saying there is anything really wrong with having a garage queen, but boss, when you take your cars to a show, you drive them there don't you? it makes me sad, that some of these cars, that are idolized by so many, only get to have their wheels on pavement when they are being pushed off of the trailer into the show building, such a waste of iron.
