Does anyone know the bolt size and thread for 42868 S?
I can't find it in any of my manuals.

I went to the hardware store and matched it up. It's a 12/24- 1/2" machine screw, but I still would like to know where to look it up in the books.


Maybe our Number Dummy Bill can tell me where to look.

That is what it is 12-24 screws I ordered all with external lock washers.

 

That Zoro site has some nice stuff. I ordered some of the SHCS 1/4 20's. Got 100 for 11 bucks. More than I need. Want to get some button head 5/16 24's for the door to hinges area.

 

I have no problem getting the hardware locally. My problem is determining the size and pitch from the illustrations in the parts and text manuals.


The bolts and screws are clearly numbered, but some of the time I can't find it in the index. 42868 S is but one example.

 

Standard aka hardware part number. Listed under the application (see below 23200-1 in parts catalog pic).

42868-S8 .. Screw & Lockwasher ~ #12 -24 x 1/2" long.
