I saw an old toyota motorhome burn to the ground on the expressway yesterday. It got me to thinking. I am not prepared. How many of us are. I have been procrastinating but we all need an easily accessible abc fire extinguisher in our homes, shops and vehicles. I think I will get an extra or two so I can start a fire in the yard and let everyone in the family demonstrate their ability to put it out. Be safe everyone be sure you have fire extinguishers and smoke alarms everywhere they are needed. Make sure everyone in your household know how to use it and have your escape routes planned.

 

I have had 2 on my truck.... now I'm just down to one (ABC) ext. . The other one was "put on duty"-unfortunately...on a warm summer nite this past year. I really need it refilled soon. I have an AED and "small" trauma kit that I have been trying to squeeze in my reg. cab F150... Whenever I get/stay at home...

for engine fires or home incipient fires, look into a CO2 extinguisher.
ABC ( dry chem.) extinguishers leave a huge mess inside the home you can imagine what it would do to an open carb.
if you're lucky enough to find one, a CO2, make sure it has been hydrostatically tested within the past seven years.
if you find a few gimme a holler, i'm always lookin!

yea i keep a household abc as well as CO2 extinguisher in the truck tool box. i do too much torching and welding NOT to carry one!
