Whos all with me Ford in a Ford

Hey guys something thats been bothering me a lot is people putting Chevy motors in older GFord vehicles. Ive seen several old Ford street rods as well as some old Ford pickups with Chevy motors. Makes me want to scream. I say if its Ford it stays Ford. Ford powered baby yeh. Im all for originality.an I think its time to put a Ford in a Chevy. Look at the uprising that would cause. Personally I think Ford motors are superior to Chevies any day. Thats why I drive a Ford. So what do you guys think?

It had to do with the simplicity and availability of the chevy small block, so they say. I think it sucks. I wouldn't ruin a classic ford with a chevy engine. There's nothing cooler than a hopped up ford flathead v8.

Im strickly ford.
But back in the day of my dad,
he had an ol' 55 ford pu with a chevy motor in it.
And one reason my mom hooked up with him is it was the fastest truck in
humbolt county california.

I think it's about time someone drop an FE 390 in a 1957 Chevy. That's ruffle a few feathers, dont you think?

'NO", if we saw a first generation ranger with a 22r, we'ld think, what a dumb a** ha ha, at least a chevy v8 would make it faster. I did see a 67 vette with a ford 302 in hot rod along time ago, that was refreshing. Before 53, just about all performane products made were for the ford flathead v8, they had quit a run. I still enjoy seeing a t bucket or model A roadster with a flathead and 3 duces. Theres been so many chevy swaps thier boreing, if someone did swap a 22r, at least it would be something different, even a wankle engine would be cool.

I think any mixing sucks, keep a ford engine in a ford and a GM engine in a GM.

To bad you dont. A 460 will blow away a 454. A FE 390 will demolish most Chevy motors. A friend off mine ran a stock car. Ford at that with a 351. Won a championship with that car. Man the Chevy guys were mad

I'd just complain about the stupid Chebby body you put around that nice ford engine.

I can't stand seeing that. It drives me nuts. they say it's because of parts availability. Last time I checked 302's and 351w's were not on the endangered species list. I say keep chevys with chevys and fords with fords. I still havent figured out why so few people do the 302 in Jeep cj's (just using that as an example, but I would rather it be kept all amc, just slam a 304-360 OR 401 in it)(But however the 401 IS endangered). Everyone just has that lemming effect, everyone else did it, so I'll do it too! It takes more thought that most want to put in to be different.

Im with ya on this one guys. Theres nothing like going to a car show and seeing a beutifully finished ford and then looking under the hood and seeing an orange engine, that just ruins it for me.
