I absolutely love it. There's no reason you won't get high miles out of a blower engine if you don't abuse it (same as with a non-blown engine). Lots of Lightning owners to back that up. Its why Roush keeps your 3/36 warranty intact on these trucks. Typically longevity isn't the reason someone passes on a blower, the $$$ is.

my wife is making me pick between the lift and the supercharger. the boost is winning the fight for me. just wish it wasn't so dang expensive.
so that 445 hp / 500 torque on the Roush website is flywheel rating? 329/372 are respectable, but I was expecting more in the 400+ range for almost $6,000

Your F150 is currently making about 200-215 at the wheels. Yes, the drive-train loss is that significant. This will make it make faster than a Mustang GT because its generating 350 ft/lbs of torque right off idle. Its torque that counts.
Stay tuned for the next dyno graph article. There are some tricks that can be done that put it right where you're expecting to see it.

Roush changes the stock shifting, though they still aren't optimal (at least not to my liking). More on this in the article on the custom tweaks we made.
As to the MPG, the Roushcharger has a boost by-pass so with normal driving there really isn't much of an impact to mileage. Besides... I live 5 miles from the office, 3 miles from the grocery store and 3 miles from a department store. Frankly I don't check mileage, its just not an important factor to me.

I'm guessing your truck was built before Ford started building the Flex Fuel engines into the F-150's, but do you happen to know whether the supercharger will preclude using E85 in an FFV engine?
I would guess detonation is one of the bigger concerns, so E85 shouldn't make that worse, but I don't know what they do with the ECU programming, if anything, to run E85 that may foul up a supercharger installation.
Thanks for the great articles.

That's a question for Roush. I suggest starting a new topic with an appropriate title. Roush has a rep here who might be able to answer this.
Personally, I wouldn't put anything other than the best (not the cheapest) fuel in my truck. A supercharger requires premium fuel, and its not just octane that matters, its total BTUs. 93 octane at one isn't as good as 93 octane at another. Around here, Shell is horrible. Citgo is borderline. Chevron is good. Murhpy (Walmart) is horrible. Quicktrip is, surprisingly, pretty good. BP = bad ping!
