I purchased the LED 3rd brake light by Bully. It says "install in minutes" and comes with a short wire and factory plug. They forgot to say that you have to remove the headliner to plug it in! It's on my work truck, 2006 XL. Does anyone know how the headliner comes out before I break something? It looks like somehow the hanger hooks have to come out? Thanks for any help guys.

Remove hanger hooks, screws behind the dome light, and I had to remove the oh-s### handles on an 03. Hope that helps,
I tried this in my Screw for the RECON light, but was unable to get those clips down at all. I tried removing some interior trim pieces inthe back to see if I missed something but nothing looked amiss to me. I managed a little slack and was able to reach in for the wire, although I looked like one of those fancy french circus freaks while doing it.
Im sure that looked funny. A clothes hanger can help sometimes in those situations. Also I beleive there is a kind of flap that you might need to use a flat head on to access the screws for the hanger.
Heres a story for ya.
When I had to remove the headliner for a f150 I started at the driver side, stuck my hand underneath the headliner and felt a *****. I then pulled the headliner down enough at the drivers seat to see that there were syringes stuffed into the headliner to keep hidden. Luckily I owned the truck at that point for 8 months and the chances of something being picked up was slim to none. I will never buy an auction vehicle again.
That's scary! It's insane what some people will do.
On a side note, I've had a small bumping noise coming from somewhere in the cab since I got the truck, just over rough pavement. After reading this post the first time, I went out to look at the truck for my own curiosity and felt something up under teh dome light. Turns out the plug for the dome light is causing that noise, as I was able to feel the bumping with my hand while driving over rough pavement. Now I just have to remedy it...
