How can I disable the factory rear seat DVD?
Very random question; I am taking a group of friends up to Canada for a ski trip. While I am sure the backseat passengers would love to watch DVDs for 8 hours, I hate driving while a movie is on. Is the entertainment unit on its own fuse? Could I pull that without disabling the front seat CD and radio?

Owners Manual Has Your Answer
I have an 04 X. I went South for Thanksgiving with my wife, my sister, her husband and there 2 kids. The kids watched the DVD and my wife, sister, brother-in-law and I listened to the radio. Check your owners manual and it will tell how to split the sound. I don't remember how to do it but it was simple to do. You will need headsets.

this will actually split the sound eh? I have done it where i have rear seat passengers on headphones while the front gets radio. never have i been able to actually have the rear speakers play something different than the fronts.
i do this trip with friends every year; a year ago i had two guys along that insisted on listening to the movie at THX levels (aka cranked up to theater obnoxious) i kept constantly asking them to turn it down, that got pretty damn annoying. the good news is they didnt get an invitation back, so maybe if i get it split and have some more considerate rear seat passengers things will go better this year.
