Has anyone installed a gear splitter with their non turbo diesel?


I was currious to the success. I've looked in to the gear vendors, us gear, and the ranger splitter. I've got an 86 4x4 with the 4 speed.

Has anyone ever gone to a doubble dverdrive? I'm talking a ranger unit in front of the tranny, and a gear vendor out back?

 

While not a diesel, my Dad has a Gearvendors unit on a C-6 in a class C motorhome with a stock 429. He really likes 2nd overdrive for pulling hills.
