Ford truck factory

This year my 1957 is 50 years old and I'm assuming it was made in Ontario. I still can't find a vin to give me a exact date but I am hoping to take her on a vacation (long distance beer run) to its "birthplace", since I just got her road worthy after a complete motor job on a 292. So I was wondering where would a 57 pickup have been made in Ontario in 1957 (yes, yes I know the factory) but where?

Also would anyone know how close to the bulding would I be able to get as a member of the public?

Thanks from Saskatchewan
Ryan

5th digit of VIN# is the plant code

Ontario Truck plant was in Oakville.

I have a highway drive-by pic of it from 2002.

They have tours on certain days of the week unless they are re-tooling

I work at Oakville assembly (24 years now), the Ontario Truck plant did not open until 1966 and closed in 2004, however Trucks were produced in the Car plant which opened its doors in 1953. So Trucks ran down the same line as cars. As getting close to the plant, hows the front door, from there the plant is encased by fence

Hey Snowking !!!!!

Does this mean that you will be coming to Arthur on August 18/19 ? You could possibly win the longest distance award.

Well, it's not as big as the Calgary Stampede. Not quite as exciting as a weekend at Race City. BUT !!!!!!!!!! if you are coming to Ontario, it would be the BEST thing to do for one weekend while you're here.
There are always 2 fields full of Ford Truck nuts there and rarely a dull moment.

Either way, let us know well in advance so we can organize a birthday party for your truck.
As far as the long distance award at the Arthur show, the last winner came from NB or NS so I think you'd be a shoe-in by a few hundred klicks.
