Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has a diagram of what spart plugs connect to the correct plugs on the distrubutor cap? I've got a 1978 F-100 with a 351M V8 engine.

In most cases the NUMBER 1 position is cast into the cap.

However,in some cases it isn't so a person has to determine where #1 position is.
Plus, in reality #1 can be located anywhere on the cap as long as all the pertinent timing related parts are set to spec.

another However, In MOST cases... Looking at the distributor from the truck grille area.
The #1 spot is in the 1-2 o'clock position of the cap as shown above.

 

Thanks everyone! Now my truck starts again... moron me forgot to mark down where everything was connected before trying to replace the spark plugs and wires. And yes, this would be my first time attempting to really do anything myself mechanical wise towards a car or truck.
