What are you replacing it with?

that's only around 150K miles. If I buy anything that has significant problems with less 150K miles then I'll never buy that again!

Yeah, I have been researching for my next vehicle for 2 months now, waiting for the right buy. I really made my decision on re-sale value, not brand (even tho they say they're built to last). I wanted a zx3 (I'm in a ford family) but couldnt find a decent one, and because of its less than ideal re-sale. Thanks for the luck, hopefully I don't get a lemon lol.

I saw a similar American commercial, it said that there are more Ford trucks with over 250K miles on the road than Dodges or Chevies. Since Ford sells the most trucks to begin with, the commercial isn't saying anything more than that Fords aren't significantly less reliable than Dodge or Chevy.

My dad's old F-150 made it past 250K kms but not without a significant number of trips to the dealer.

A kid I was talking to at a farm show near me was talking about his Ford superduty with over 300,000 miles with just standard maintenance an wear items such as brakes an tires replaced. Only a Ford could do that he said. He said the truck has pulled very heavy loads its whole life an was used a abused. Lets see a Dodge or Chevy do that he said. No way. I also know another guy who had 425,000 miles on his 85 150 with a 300 six. Used that hard its whole life. A Ranger with over 500,000 miles. Typical Ford run forever with little maintenance. The stories go on an on.

Sorry guys, but farmers and irrigators in the Central Valley in CA regularly run Chevies up to 300,000 or 400,000 miles rather reliably.

Any of the big 3 will do it.

Ok yeah fords will last a long time, but at the same time, dodges have quite a few high milage trucks out there too. Any truck if taken care of will put out reliable service for a lot of years and miles......
