V10 Sound Clip (interior noise)

ok FTE members! i'm slowly but surely getting new stuff added to my web site! i had an e-mail regaurding the INTERIOR sound that a original 40 series produces. so i added a couple more clips of MY truck!

#1) acceleration up to 60mph, shifting at apx 3000rpm's. 3rd-4th shifted at 2500rpm's
SOUND CLIP

#2) cruzing at 60mph (1900rpm's)
SOUND CLIP

these clips were taken with the recorder in the passanger side rear seat! so this is what you'd hear if you were in the back of my Crew Cab SD! you may hear a slight tire noise in these clips also. althought it's not as bad as when i had my Super Swamper SX's on, the IROK radials do produce some road noise!

ENJOY!!

Jason,

Sweet sound! I think your 40 is a lot louder than my 70 series. I will have to get something to record it for me to make a better comparison, but it seems that way listening to your clip. Mine is deep from the outside, but a little higher pitched inside, and it almost dissappears at cruising speed . . . unless I have to open her up a little!

BTW . . . I don't know that I've ever taken that long to get to 60 . . . I am sure you were just holding back for "effect"!!

Thanks for the post.

Too noisy. One might as well listen to a clanking diesel and a turbo.

What I love most about the V10 is the sound of silence from it. I'm around loud equipment all day. It is so relaxing to climb aboard and to be able to here yourself think at the end of the day. I can only tolerate so much. Between tire noise and the exhaust noise in the sound clip, it crossed over my limit.

I have to agree with you. We currently own a '96 PSD which definitely isn't quiet in the cab. Recently I test drove a V10 and both the Wife and I couldn't get over how quiet it was, even when accelerating. We had classical music going on the radio and we could hear it with the sound turned way down.
