I was thinking of the 4:88 and then adding the aftermarket under over for when I don't need the power and want the fuel mileage to be higher. Then I read something about that voiding the warranty. What are you guys thoughts about it.
It looks like it is used on several OEM products. I don't know if it voids any warranty.

Curiosity has got me on this so I guess I should word the question differently...What do you currently tow with your current truck that makes it necessary for a 4.88 gear ratio in your new truck?

Actually I don't have a truck now. But I am looking at Fifth wheels now

Personally, at this point I tow a Cedar Creek 362BTS about 14,000# dry weight and a 2200# pin weight.......Not even close to the F450 capacity, However, we're looking at a Teton! That will be a whole lot closer to 4600# pin weight and 17,900# dry weight, which puts us in the area of the F450.
Either way, just about anything we'd care to tow will be handled with safety and ease.
