Got my BFG ATs on this weekend

I know it gets asked a lot around here if 33s will fit on the stock rims and if they rub any at all ( I know I asked those questions) and how it looks. Well I got mine put on this weekend 305/65R18s which comes out to be 33.6X12 and they fit great. Stock 18" rims with a 2.5" Autosprings leveling kit. It looks great and I recommend them to anyone sitting on the fence about getting them.

Did you buy your tires thru a local dealer? If you don't mind me asking, what did they run ya? I want to get the exact same thing for mine!

I have been wrestling with the decision about what size tire to go with myself. On ypur brother's truck, what kind is it? FX4, 4x4, 4x2 etc? I currently have a set of 255/70R17 on my 4x2 truck. I want to go bigger, but I am concerned about how it will affect the ride. I figure I can put a set of 265/65R17's or add a lift kit and go with the 285/70R17's. BFG AT's, of course. Everytime I mention going bigger to a tire dealer, they act like I am crazy. I don't see what the big deal is.

I bought the tires from a local place but they were only a few bucks less than ford was. It came out to about $300 a tire. My brothers truck is a XLT 4X2 and the tires are firestone destination ATs

Im not sure of the overall height I will have to break out the measuring tape but it will fit in my garage and my garage is tiny. I have to put it in the garage at night because the place I live wont allow trucks so its not an option. Anyway, my garage is smaller than a standard garage and it fits in by maybe an inch height wise without hitting the garage door when its up and when its down it comes about 1/4 inch from hitting my trailer hitch.

O1COBRA - Truck looks great...

al_bundy - If you want to go with BFG's and stay stock I think the 265's are the way to go. They look sweet, and handle great compared to 255 generals. Increased Road noise is minimal. I picked them up online for $160 a tire including shipping. Which no one here local wanted to touch.

Thanks, I was concerned myself about the width of 285's. Where did you find the BFG's for such a great price?

I have a question for you since we have the same truck. I am thinking about putting on the BFG 305's also. Do the 305's stick out past the fenders? I believe the 305's are 12 in. wide and the 285's are slightly over 11 in. wide.

Has anyone put on the Bfg 285/65/18's? If so what do they look like?
I'm concerned about the wide tires throwing rocks aginst the side of the truck chipping the paint etc., not to mention washing these monsters. I have installed mud guards. Any advise or comments would be appreciated.
