F-150 MAKES NEW YORK TIMES!

Guys, check out the NY Times article today titled "Will soft touches mean softer sales for the mighty F-150?". (You can also read this article online). I think some of my quotes are used in this article too. FTE users had input on this article from what I understand...it's really good, you should all check it out.

I'd like to order mine in bright pink, with independant rear suspension and the paint scheme has "I'm a god ****ed p***y" all over it.
The F-150 is quickly going the way of the Silverado

I understand your reactions. Unfortunately, we have to face the fact that the suburbanites have taken our beloved trucks and ruined them with their buying power, turned them into sort of glorified luxury cars. And the new F150 has a little Dodge "Mayor" in it and a little (YUCK!) Silveradoo-doo, which the slant sides of the grill remind me of, but I see more Ranger in it than those others. But the base models have a Superduty-type grille (except for the slants) and window drop at the mirrors, and they have big 9-inch blue ovals. Also, the shocks are outboard of the frame, which seems good, and the frame is much stiffer. I do think Ford has toughened the truck at the same time they were softening it for the suburbanites. (You jest about independent suspension, I hope--please tell me you jest!) We might be able to live with the XL version anyway, and hopefully the XL still has crank windows and would be available with a stick shift. Bottom line, I'd rather see the '67-'79s brought back, but the 2004 IMHO is better looking than the '97-03s.
