FNG-Permission To Come Aboard
Hi, Guys. I'm new to the site and wanted to say hello.
I've already put to use your great store of experience. I had a sticking entry light problem that was quickly dispatched with generous amounts of both contact cleaner and WD-40. We'll see how it works out over time.
I bought my regular cab, long bed, V10 4x4 automatic F250 Super Duty new in 1999. The only problems I've had are the aforementioned entry light that doesn't want to go off, a bad plug coil, and an EGR valve that is throwing a code and check engine light. It's been a great machine and done good service hauling and towing.
The V10 has been powerful and reliable, though thirsty. City mpg is usually around 10-ish, with highway being about 12-ish. I can drive from Omaha to KC without downshifting in cruise control. There is one particular hill, however, that I get a downshift on and thus I know it's time to clean the air filter.
I look forward to many more years of service from my SD and wish you all the same from yours.
Will

My wife is retired Navy, her dad is retired Navy. I'm outnumbered and apparently being taken over by the Stockholm Syndrome...
I, too, have to explain many jokes at work to the young kids. Things like "make hay while the sun shines," the Minnie Pearl price tag thing, "dial" a number, why it's called the "clicker," that I grew up having to stand up to change the channel and answer the phone, etc. It's a real treat getting made to feel so old.
Poor kids, imagine them having to walk into town and back.

I can't say I've heard that exact phrase. Being in the comm center all the time, we didn't get out much. Deep in the bowels of the STRATCOM bldg. It was almost like the beginning of Get Smart. We didn't have the Cone of Silence, though.
I'm surprised I even remember how to get back on base to get my pills. I did such a huge brain-dump when I left the base for the last time that you could almost hear the wind rush in where the knowledge used to be.
Dear and I retired here in the OMA area. She's not much into trucks, but she likes to go out playing in the snow in it. Still waitin' for the snow...
