54 F-350 driveshaft bearing

NAPA keeps sending the wrong one, mounting flanges are way too wide. This is for the center support for the 2 piece driveshaft.
The truck is a 130" WB, 9' bed p/u if that helps. Not much left in local junkyards, what Ive found is pretty tired.
Sourcing info GREATLY appreciated!

HI, if you have a Car Quest parts house near you, that may be a good source. I have had good luck finding other parts with the Car Quest in my area, (San Jose, Ca). There should be a number on the bearing for cross-reference.

Every lead, including Hemmings ads came up empty. Apparently the last year for this set-up was 54 and mine was a complete broken mess. Local parts house had one for 55-up that can be adapted by welding a longer plate on to the existing one. The new one has the same inner diameter as the 54 but is much heavier duty, guess the OHV's needed it. Plus it should handle a bigger engine.

Sometimes you're better off giving the guys at NAPA or CarQuest the Ford part# , so they can cross reference it to their part numbers. I have much better luck that way. These young kids working there don't know what these old trucks are all about. The number is O1T 4812 . The parts books list it for 48-54 F-2, F-3 and the F-250, F-350 series and larger. It also lists it as having a 1-3/8 inch I.D.

My local AutoZone had one for my 59. Could try them.
I believe they are on line.

Amazing what a new bearing will do! I had thought the shake, rattle and roll was just typical Ford.
Updating to the 55 and later bearing was easy plus it shows up in most parts stores lists. The 54 and earlier was a complete "not available" after a few days of web searching and phone calls.
I used a piece of 3/8 plate that was long enough for the new bearing by about an inch either side....no rocket science...just what I had. Mounted the new plate to the old frame with original hardware. The new bearing assembly is about 2" wider and much more "healthy"...Ford used it up thru the 390 so its got what it takes.

Cut a few spacers or you can use washers to space the new assembly over the old bolt heads, the extra 3/8" ( the height of the original bolt heads plus a bit of junkbox availability ) has no effect on shaft alignment. Had to grind off about 1/4" from the drivers side of the old mount to clear the new 7/16 x 14 bolt, the engine /tranny is offset from dead center and you can see that with the original mount.

Purists would probably grind off the old mount rivets and just do a new mount, I elected to have the change reversible just cuz it was the fastest thing I thought of...pure laziness.
Put about a 40 mile shakedown drive on it earlier and Im amazed at how nice this thing rides now...most of my complaints were due to the failing bearing. Up to 60mph with the old 7:50-17's, 5.14 rear and it was actually a nice ride!!
