You mean we are still beating this poor horse after 10 years?
To answer the new poster's question:
You have discovered the dark secret that aftermarket IFS manufacturers only discuss after a secret handshake. The crossmember and a front sump oil pan want to occupy the same space. I have no idea if anyone makes a rear sump pan for your I-6, but building one would probably be easier than with a V-8. Pick up (no pun intended) a spare pan for your engine at your local salvage yard or online, cut it horizontally just before it turns under for the bottom of the shallow part of the pan. Bolt the upper section to the engine block and look at what would be needed to extend the oil pump pickup to the rear and down into the sump if you swap the lower part of the pan end for end. The pan may also need to be widened or reshaped some to allow for the pickup tube to be run to the rear. Make a new/modified pickup per your plans (be sure to add a support for it at the rear of the lengthened tube) Have it all welded together (tube and pan) by a skilled welder and checked carefully for leaks or seepage.

Good idea Morris but the true blues will still beat the poor guy to death even though he didn't mention the C word. I was looking to see how many of the guys were still active from when this thread started way back then, not too many of them. It's a shame because some of those fellows could have contributed alot of usefull information that could have helped the majority of us not so pure blue bloods. I'm not advocating chevy , dodge or anything other than our ford trucks. I do appreciate the libertys we have on this board and just wish we could rid ourselves from meaningless prejudices. You do a super job at moderating this forum so trust your judgement. We should be an encouragement to everyone who feels they can get the help they came here for.
