need a truck identified

i am not really a truck fan or anything, but i like taking interesting pictures and this one caught my eye. can someone tell me what year it is (looks like 51 or 52), whether it is reasonably true to original, and whether the color scheme was ever available from the factory?

It's a '52. Don't know if that was an original color scheme or not. And I agree, it is a real eye catcher.

thanks. i had a gut feel it was early 50's because i used to be much more interested in cars than i am today and the truck didn't have the right fins and trim to be from the later 50's. i'm old enough to remember the 60's trucks.
