'07 Silverado wins Truck of the Year
#16
I think I speak for several of us when I say Motor Trend is a joke. They base their choice on looks and innovation, which is only a small portion of what a truck is all about. If anything, they should run a brand of each truck for 5 years, and then see which one is doing better after the time period is up, and then name one truck of the year. As far as I'm concerned, a truck can't be called anything until it has put time in on the road and on the job. Motor Trend's "Truck of the Year" award is about as meaningful as dog crap on the bottom of your shoe.

No one..and I mean NO one, should base road test results on a couple of days of driving.
Ask the owners...
Any magazine that takes money for ads is gonna be biased...just like the websites that also take ads.
And remember too, that those rags like MT and C & D..etc. take ads from everyone. They slam the car/truck in a road test, and it's bye bye advertising!
The Los Angeles Times road tested a GM car in their Highway One section last year. The reviewer said some unkind things about the car (either a Buick or Pontiac).
GM pulled all their Corporate ads from the newspaper for several months. The dealers keep their ads going, tho.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen the infomercial GM and Howie Long have out. I got to see it Sunday morning, what a joke. They make several claims that they are the first to do alot of stuff that has already been done (power sliding rear window, power window on the third door, third door that opens all the way, folding back seat, tailgate assist). They also claim that they get 20+ mpg w/active fuel management. Looks to me like GM went and borrowed ideas from all the other truck manufactors instead of engineering there own.

i think they should have a class for not quite a truck, but not quite a car. cause if ford and chev came out with thier halflings again, there would be much competition.
Oh, we cant forget the ol' Subaru Brat (baja)!

The styling...flares on the fenders, sloping windshield came from the '04 Titan.
The Util-I-Trac bed system, wide opening rear doors, power down rear window did too.
The rest of Chevies "new" features were copied mainly from Ford, along with a bit from Dodge and Toyota.
What PO me, was Chevy claims they were the first to have these features.
And since when is Howie Long a truck expert?
