Talking I got an early Christmas present :)

I was having dinner with my wife the other night (Grandma was looking after our daughter. It was wierd not wolfing down the food) and we started talking about hunting (hmmmm, how did that topic come up) and she said that since I have been such a good boy the past couple of years and not pushed to do any big trips that I can do a big trip this year (2007). So I said I want to go to Sask to get a big whitetail. She said no prob.

If I was not in a resturant, I would have got on the floor and done the Homer-spin-in-a-cirlce-wubba-wubba-wubba.

Heads up Sask whitetails. Me, my truck, and my rifle are heading your way.

Thanks for the offer preppy. I was thinking of going with a co-worker since he is from there (somewhere around saskatoon) but nothing is set in stone yet. I am so stoked that I can make this happen, so if it works out with him or not, I am going. If not, then I will for sure need some help on finding folks.

Well, hunting is the one passion for a sport that I have, so when I get a gift like that, I get very stoked.

There is another fellow here that has family down south and they hunt near Cypress Hills. He was showing me some photos of a hunt that they did a couple of years ago. Made my mouth water. I love that southern part of the province. Reminds me of my Lethbridge days. I guess it is the cowboy in me that draws me there. BC is nice, but rolling plains with sun rises and sun sets forever are nice too.

I hear you. My wife is Swiss and there is no way I can pull her from the mountains. She lived with me for a bit in Ab, but never really liked it. Downhill sking in a coulee was not her thing.

hahaha yeah, I lived in grande prairie for a bit...their ski hill is the wapiti river valley. The slopes the river cut through the plains I laughed my **** off when I saw that.

I dunno pud I look at it this way In the mountains, its like there is always a door shut in you face. On the prairies its like having all the windows open and nothing blocking your view

of an open field with nothing to look at. At least the door has a pretty picture on it.

I liked sunsets in the flats too tho I guess, to the east it would be pitch black and to the west you could still see sun. Especially if it was cloudy in the east and clear in the west....but that much open sky kind of creeped me out at first lol.
