Places to Off Road near KC

Hello every one,

I'm a new member in the KC area (Blue Springs). At least I think that I'm a member!

Sunday I was watching the Bajha 1000 on TV with my seven year old and made the comment "Wouldn't you like to go driving with daddy like that?" he jumped right up and said "Yea, lets go!" That was when I realized that I don't know any where in the area to go Off Roading. I have a Bronco II w\ 30's where can I go do some 4 wheel'n

John

With our recent winter weather, I did some 4 wheelin' right down Raytown Rd!

Welcome to the group!

I haven't checked it out yet, but when I had the same question, I was told to take Old Noland Rd until it ends...south of Bannister...and apparently, you can make a left onto a dirt road out in the boonies that has some good four wheelin.

I haven't been there yet, but I'm dying to go!

The Kansas chapter usually goes to Tuttle Creek ORV Park once a month. It might be fun for you to meet up with them there and get to know some of the people from the site.

BTW that place kicks @$$!!!!! Changed me from a mud man to a rock man in about 2 hours! Now I'm looking for a used (rolled or not) mid 80's jeep cherokee! Well worth the 4 hour drive across the state and 2 hours into kansas for it!

Check out my Gallery for some pics!

You have a better chance 4 wheelin' that Escort than you do that truck!!

There's gotta be some other places up there!! I grew up in KC and still visit often. I'd love to find some places to go there too. I can drag at KCIR then go 4 wheelin'. How awesome would that be!!

Hey Terry, think duct tape would hold on the driveshaft? lol Thought I'd better get it out before you did!!

Those Rocks at Tuttle look awsome. Thats what I'm looking for. How do you get there? There is a place just off of 291 north or the 39th St exit. Its one of those non posted privately owned trails through the trees type of places; thats where the motorcycle shop sends ppl to off road.

Just take 70W to the Manhattan Exit then when you get to manhattan take the tuttle Creek BLVD north to Randolph. There is a little gas station there and a hotel the Grandma at the station can tell you how to get there.
