Om my 88 supercab, both doors drop when I open them. This also makes them hard to close. I've tried lifting them up when the doors are open, but don't see any movement in the hinge pins. Is this just a case of bad hinges on both doors, even though the driver door is used way more than the passenger door? If it is bad hinges, how hard is it to replace the top one?
you can replace the pins, the help section in the auto store has them or replace the hinges.
ford has the hinges or national parts depot or bronco graveyard.
pins you use a dremal with a small cutting disc, get a pack because they break easy and cut out the center of each pin and hammer them out.
i always do the pins and it may take 30 minutes at the most for two.

I have a 93f150 and ordered the parts a couple of weeks ago, just have not had time to do the job. There is a Pin and bushing kit. I was told it is usually the bushing that has gone bad.
If the hinge pins are not worn, do the body lines in the doors line up with the cab when the doors are closed? If not then the striker post needs adjustment, if they do line up then the hinges need adjustment. It can be done with a custom bent box end wrench, but it's far easier with the front fenders removed. You need to loosen the bolts holding the upper hinge to the door frame and slide it forward before retightening.
it sounds like the bushings in the pins are bad... they normally wear out first... try opening the door and lightly lifting it from the bottom corner and look at the hinges.. there should be some play there
I was gonna post a thread about this today ... was wondering best way to get the OEM pins out .... since they are smashed in on the end. Have Dremel ... will give that a go, or will hit the Auto Hobby Shop this weekend.
I haven't looked too well at mine ... but I believe the kit will work if the hole is not worn out ... only nylon bushings worn. If the holes are out of round I guess hinge replacement is the only way to go, what other years hinges will work in my 90 model if I hit the boneyard?
Just bought all 4 that the Local PepBoys had ... they are great for HELP! parts ... and both of the stopper springs they had. Will try it this weekend ... this kit has Oil lite bushings .... I thought the OEM ones were nylon ... if so these should last much longer .... heres to having a 40YO truck with good hinges in a number of years.
Man o man everytime I get on here i find something else to do with my truck. lol.. i looked them up yesterday and they are i think 7.99 at parts america, getting a set for my drivers side today and looking at doing them this weekend when i get run out of my house on sat for a few hours.
I will say this tho, this site is the best i have found so far, good people, good answers, and plenty of things to make my truck better. what more can you ask for? someone else to do it? but then it just wouldn't be the same. now would it?
Alter Ego .... Pep Boys had the pins for $4.99 each ... you need 4. The spring was $13.99 ... I think that is too much, but tired of the door getting away from me on a windy day.
Yeah .... this place is great .... here and NewBeetle.org are most informative auto sited I have been a part of .... wish I could find a DelSol site that isn't childish.
