Seat Belt question

When I bought my truck I found that 3 of my seat belts had the webbing damaged. I've never seen this in any other vehicile i've owned. the wear seams to be where the buckle may have rode on the drv's & both back seat retractor belts. drv's belt is also damaged down low near the anchor. The passenger side belt & the center seat belts frt. & back are in great shape. Has anybody seen this before in the Fords. Also does anybody have any in an old parts truck they might want to sell Or know where I could find some. Ford's Are Mucho Bucks.

From what i have read in the past, any damage to the webbing of a seat belt seriously affects its strength.
I don't know what could have caused the problem, but check some local junkyards. You might get lucky as I wouldn't think there was as high a demand for belts as other parts like tailgates, etc.
Good luck.

For replacement belts try National Parts Depot or Bronco Grave yard (both site sponsors) or LMC Truck.

When messing with seat belts, I would try to buy new ones. If you do buy used make sure they are from a vehicle that was sealed from the elements. Sometimes used belts can look OK but are still dryrotted and could fail in the event you need them.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to search around The junkyards this weekend just to see whats available. I'm probably going to go the new route anyway.

the local dealer wanted about $900 for all 4, But I contacted Direct Ford parts ( found link on this site ) & They can hook me up for about $ 600. I just don't know why they wore out like that. I've worked on trucks with a millon miles on them & they had better belts than mine.
