There's absolutely not scientific or engineering reasoning why creating restrictions in your intake can increase economy or power.

Just think, if you make your garden hose into a corkscrew shape, would it suddenly flow more water? The best intake system is a smooth bore with as few bends as possible.
That's why I was asking, I thought that Tornados were somewhat of a joke but have surprisingly heard from a few that they work, which could be do to other unassessed factors. We don't carry them here because they don't have the proven results enough for us to offer them.

I look at the tornado thing this way: if they worked the auto manufactures would have them on stock vehicles as an easy way to boost fuel economy ratings.

2007 EB non-EL 4X4

I'm getting 15MPG in town and 21 MPG on the highway without a trailer. I ordered it back in August and took delivery the last week of September. I have 3100 miles on it as of now.

Well I got the build date for my EB EL 4x4 as sometime during the week of 1/22. The dealer said I should see it withing 10 days of the build date. I'm crossing my fingers since I have to go out of town the second week of Feb.

I always drive 8-9 mph over the limit so I'm hoping I can pull 19 mpg out of her. Once she's broke in I'll be running Mobil1 and sometime during the summer I will build a set of headers for it to see what kind of power and mpg improvements I can get.

I just let the dealer change the first oil for free with the standard fare oil. The next change and on, I too will be going with MOBIL 1. I am a true believer in the stuff, ever since my racing days with turbos.

There's only about a 200-250 lb difference though.

I'll need to check the stats, however I believe the rear gears are different. Mine is a 4X4 non-EL.

I got the 2WD EB EL edition with the extra capacity towing package and it comes with the 3.73's. I may be upgrading those to 4.88's tho since I'm going to be doing some mountaing climbing next year with about 7-8000lbs hooked to the rearend.

currently with only 500 miles on the odometer I'm getting 14mpg around town.

I have the optional HD Tow Package and 4X4, so 3.73 it is.
