Glass setting tape for vent windows

Is standard glass setting tape normally used for 1953 F100 vent window glass? The stuff I just removed appeared to be a molded gasket. Possibly not stock but I am not sure. Anyone know for sure?

I have a 54 f100, yes it is stock, you can go to any auto glass shop and they will put it in for about $10.00 or $20.00.

Are you saying that any glass shop has a molded type tape to fit 53 F100. I have the other type like you use for the side glass. Was wondering if that would work. At first I thought the tape was just the regular kind that had just hardened with age.

Hey there,I've got a 53 that I replaced the vent windows, and I just used the flat tape from the window shop,I had to cut a few "V"s in it to smooth around the corners, but it worked fine,I heated the tape up in warm water with a little dish soap so it was easier to work with.Have fun

Thanks for the info. I can hardly wait to get the glass set so I can tear up my new paint putting the divider bar back in. Been dreading this one for a while.
