any tricks to replacing the water pump ?

I do have a leak at the weep hole. A good friend is a mechanic - not a diesel mechanic but has a full shop. He looked up the online technical manual for it and it looks pretty straight forward.

Any special things to watch for ? Any special tricks ?

How much anitfreeze / water does the cooling system hold ??

Roughly 8 gallons
Might want to look into the Red ELC Coolant no service for 300,000 miles (Rotella ELC, Final Charge ELC (Walmart Label))
And
Maybe a one piece replacement and eliminate the lower gasket

Its pretty straight forward after you get the <>?: fan off. Its reverse thread and the nut is larger than most of the Rent-To-Use stores have

Wasn't there a correction to the torque pump bolts? I know I've seen it a few times from somebody that learned the hard way.

Maybe this article has the correct number but I'm sure I saw a correction to one of these write ups.

I'm not hacking your help, I'm just trying to make sure.

I knew I wasn't crazy...

Here is the thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...ght=water+pump post number 7 says the torque is only 17 ft lbs.

This isn't the thread I remember, but the number sounds right.

Edit: This is the one I was thinking of...https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...ght=water+pump

I use my strap wrench to hold the pulley and a 13" or larger crescent! Also be careful... the bolts can break easily, and it always seems to be one going thru the timing cover. I use anti-sieze putting mine back together, just in case there's a next time or a next guy.

Yikes, I was unaware the article contained incorrect torque specs. I came across the write-up in my never-ending pursuit of learning all about these trucks and saved it for my future use.

Thanks for catching that.
