All, i noticed the other day a noise sounding like a rattlesnake under my hood. I was flushing my cooling ststem and noticed it then. When i poured water into the bottle above the radiator, i spilled some onto the air condtioner pulley and the rattlesnake went away! I then intentionally put a small amount of water on it after the sound came back and lo and behold, it went away. It takes about 25 seconds for it to come back. can i replace just the pulley or do i need a whole air condtioner? thanks, Jeff (learning more about diesels all the time!)

 

Yeah, you can get them. Check some of our site sponsors listed at the top of this page. I found several sources for less than $50.00. Look for A/C compressor clutch.
