I've just recently won a 48-51 Ford and Mercury truck chassis parts catalogue on E-bay.
It's harder to find the Canadian version of the parts catalogue than the American version. I mostly got it for the diagrams and pictures of the Mercury trucks. You guys have said the old parts books have inaccuracies, would this be one of the bad ones? BTW this is coming all the way from Australia. Ford Canada shipped a lot of trucks overseas.

Thats a good find no matter haow accurate.
I don't think there has ever been a Parts Catalog or a Service Manual produced that was completely correct.
The most useful thing that I've found with the Hanes Manual for my 97 Explorer is that I can stand on it and bell a 1/2 in. taller.
That's a good one to have. It's the 48-56 truck books that suck. I know the Canadian books group years different than the US counterparts. All the 48-56 books books were printed in 1964, and have alot of mistakes and omissions. They don't show alot of body parts in these series of books, because the parts were obsolete by the 1964 printing. That's why I stress getting the early series books as they're complete.
Good to hear. I wonder if the Canadian books were grouped like the shop manuals? because the shop manual was 48-51 and 52 supplement so this must have been published before 52. I was the only bidder and shipping cost just as much as the book. Supposedly the book is in great condition with some water damage on the back 2 pages. Says there are only 9 fingerprints.
I scored a chassis parts book a couple years ago and its been good to look at when trying to figure out how things go together (or what parts I'm missing). The one I have is specific to 1952 trucks and was printed in Canada. I've also managed to score the regular parts catalog (think its 49 to 55) and body catalog from late 40's through early 50's (can't remember exactly).
My real prize is a time/labor estimate book for 1952 from the dealership for all vehicals. Has a really nice leather bound binder
So you have the book that would complete my 48-51 book. Too bad they are too big of a book to turn into a PDF document. I think I would burn my scanner out doing it. Be nice to preserve them though.
Dueller, I just dug out the book and heres the full title of it:
1952 Truck Supplementary Chassis Parts Catalogue
Parts and Accessories Division
Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited
Windsor, Ontario
SE-361-52 S April 1952
108 pages
haha and its not for sale It is a great reference though.. and it if wasn't so many pages I'd probably scan it along with the rest of my collection. i'm actually at the point now that I'm looking at a firebox to keep them all safe in.
