Earl's World - What happened to George?
#63
Glad to hear everything is moving in the right direction George. I haven't been around much the last couple years and progress has come to a grinding halt on my projects.
I think you were a real inspiration to a lot of folks on here and I am certain that there were projects that got done because of the time you put into Earl's World. You have a real knack in your writings for making a big PITA job seem almost enjoyable. You were certainly the inspiration for the tear down on my 50 F1.
Hope to see you back here soon.

Ferguson777---I am amazed a guy as young as Andrew likes these ole trucks so much!! A nice kid....cannot believe he was about 17 when we had dinner at the Nationals.......my wife thought he was studdly.....haha......now she was stunned.....he was still jailbait....LOL

Hey, George, seems you have brought a lot of us out of the woodwork. Good to see all these old bylines show up... kind of like that high school reunion... 'cept none of us has gotten any older. Well, maybe Andrew.
Kind thoughts for your steady improvement from the barren wilds of west Texas.
happily, himmelberg

Just got off the phone with George. He continues to do pretty well. He hopes to be posting here sometime soon. It made my day to fondly remembered the old days "ie 2003-2004". Earl is still in the garage patiently waiting. Guess he hasn't been started for a while and the major bodywork awaits. If George gets back on the resto we may have to find him a more repairable cab.
Good to see Kenny, Peter and 'rage on here too. I thought I was the only one that disappeared.
I've got George's phone number again so I'll keep better track of him this time.

So, I was thinking about Earl, and so I went looking for this thread. I found it obviously, but has anyone heard from George? Where is he? I liked the idea of each of us donating what we can to help with Earl. If anyone has any updates, I know I would love to hear how George, and Earl are, and if there is anything we can do to help with Earl.

Earl's world
I've been coming here for a year or so, but I've never toured George's Earl's World. Boy that's a beautiful job of documenting a restoration. I don't think my work is up to George's great standards yet, but I keep trying to get there. And I get better each time. So at least I'm moving in the right direction.
Thanks for the great documentary George. Good luck with the health issues.
