Wiring harnesses? Anyone got a suggestion on where to buy one?

I am now dropping a 302/AOD tranny from an 85 Lincoln into my '55 Ford and where can I get a main wiring harness? I have the complete engine and tranny with existing wires but I need the computer connection harness.

I also will have an original V8 and tranny from my '55 for $350 or so and it is in good running order as I've been driving it everyday. 3 Speed tranny.

I am not looking to make a profit just passing on a good engine. I live in Michigan.

I think Ford Racing Performance Parts carries the wiring for later models engines into older chassis. Check out http://www.fordracing.com/performanceparts for their products. I know there are other places that have them, but Ford is the first that comes to my mind.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 22-Mar-02 AT 05:47 PM (EST)]ezwiring.com THey have a good harness for under $220...that is including shipment....works fine for me and my 54 or my 55....

Dont need the main wiring unless you want to use the cruise control, a/c, PB, PDL or any other power devices. For instance on my 77 302/AOD...I am using the ezwiring harness with just the basics for now. Will have the complete hookup within a couple of days.

The two prior posts beat me to the punch.. Defnitely ezwiring.com is the place to go.

I did this exact swap in a '50. I used a Painless 18 circuit harness for chassis and took the stock harness apart for the computer part. I bought a wiring diagram from Helm to figure out which was which. I spliced them together at the LH fenderwell. If you send me your Email I will send you 2 Word documents on what I did. Mounted the ECM in the RH kick panel like the Lincoln. ECM does not control cruise control and does not need a VSS signal for this engine.
