For the C6 transmission, it is on the driver side of the transmission, where the shift linkage enters the tranny.
For the T18 manual 4 spd, it sticks out of the top of the transmission case, should be the only thing that has wires attached to it going into the manual tranny.
For any other transmission, AOD, E4OD, Mazda 5 speed, etc, I'm not sure.
