Ebpv
It's located on the turbine (exhaust) side of the turbo, where the exhaust downpipe bolts to the turbo. If you look under where the turbo and downpipe connect, you'll see an actuator arm. This arm controls the butterfly valve operation. And the arm is oil controlled (hydraulic) activated by an electric signal from the PCM.
The purpose of the EBPV is to close off the exhaust and create a load on the engine. Under normal operation, it closes when oil and ambient temps are below a certain point.
