Engine Type/Number of Ford 52 F1?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-May-02 AT 12:17 PM (EST)]Ignacio,
If it's a 52 the original engine was most likely either a 226 6-cylinder or a 239 8-cylinder. Find your VIN on the rating plate in the glove box. The VIN is also stamped on top of the right-side frame rail in front of the cab. If you post all the information listed there we can tell you what engine came with the original truck as well as some other information.

First of all, I want to thank you for the answer.
This info. will help me to ask for parts.
The key you are giving me (VIN) I think is the most relilable source to know the original motor.I will send you that info, so you can tell me type of motor (What I really appreciate).
Thanks again, Goerge.

Ignacio,
Ranger Pat is right about your vin number. If you do have a 215 cubic inch 6 cylinder it should have the following casting numbers on it.
The block casting number: EAA-6015-B
The head casting number: EAA-6085
This information is in the 1952 shop manual.

Engine Type/Number of Ford 52 F1?
Hey!! Friends
Do you know a web site or a place where I could ask for some parts, specialy for pistons for 226 or 215 engines.
Or do you suggest me to change for another engine?
I am trying to keep my truck as original as I can or If I have to make some changes I would like to do it with some parts not so far from the originals. Let say this engine for another 6 Cil (Later model)or things like that, I would'nt set the body upon a complete car frame. It is only my personnal point of view, I respect other changes people make on their owns.
The final goal is to enjoy these kind of hobbies we have.
Regards!!!

Engine Type/Number of Ford 52 F1?
Sir: Your ID # F1D2DL 22467 Means: F-1 is the Model # D=215 cubic inch engine 2= the model year (1952) DL represents Dallas Tx assembly plant and the last 5 numbers were usually six numbers: they started in sequence from 100001 and indicated the sequence of the unit's production. G is the original color and for that year and model it would have been Sea Island Green. Hope this helps you with your restoration.
