I changed the transmission oil and filter on the wife's mini van this summer, that wasn't a fun job, very messy without a drain plug!! But my skin was soft and shinny for a month!!!

You could change your oil at my place since I have a garage but you would have to go somewhere else to get your tranny fluid changed.

The garage has been declared an "old truck" free environment by my brother's girlfriend. (She does own the house tho)

I hear ya on the tranny fluid.....thats why my old truck now has a drain!!

On the oil topic, what kind of oil does everyone use/prefer?? I use Penzoil for pretty much everything I have. I believe my bike has Castrol in it right now though. If I could afford it, I'd use Mobil 1, and will once I get an engine built that deserves it.

I dont really have a favorite oil. I believe most oils are made fairly even, therefore when you get into brand names its jsut that. Who knows though!

I was at the University when they did an oil test demonstration on different brands of oil. There is a difference. It seemed the dark brown the oil the better it worked.
Penzoil, Texaco Havoline, and valvoline came out on top for average oils. Mobil1 came out higher, your synthetics were the best.
Shell, co-op, petrocan, esso oils failed. They were oil, but not up to par for wear and tear.
So I use penzoil or Valvaline or Havaline. With a new motor in my truck I use synthetics penzoil.

What was wrong with the Shell, co-op, petrocan, esso oils and what type of failure/break down did they have? I use Esso and Coop oils non synthetic as well as the Coop synthetic 0/40 in my diesels.
