This is a fine situation. My 1987 F250 diesel stopped shifting. I've got the problem narrowed down to Governor or cutback valve (I doubt the cutback valve would cause this problem). I was going to replace the governor so I called the Ford truck dealer. I'm told the part is obsolete and can't get it.

Can anyone tell me where to possibly find these type of parts?

Yeah, yeah, I know. Buy a new truck.

 

Try a transmission shop that sells parts or Google "Ford C-6 Transmission parts". There are quite a few aftermarket transmission manufacturers (rebuilders) that should have the parts you need.

 

Don't know were you are at but Transmission exchange in Seattle works for me

 

There isn't too much to a governor try taking it apart and cleaning it and checking the springs as long as the springs are good and it's not gummed up it should work.
