New supergroup - Dead Rock Stars

Hey folks! I usually don't make it a habit to start irrelevant threads on automotive forums, but since this is a non-automotive forum on an automotive website, I just thought I'd share this...

I was going through my music collection today when I realized how many of those great musicians are dead! I then started thinking about what a great band you could make if you were in, uh someplace where the souls of dead people go after their body dies, if, of course, you believe in that sort of thing...Oops, I just realized how hard this is going to be to write without getting into any religious talk! I don't mean anything by it, I just...well you know what I mean; build your dream band using dead people! Here's mine:

Vocals- Lane Staley (Alice In Chains) and Janis Joplin

Guitar- Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan could trade doing lead and rhythm

Bass- Cliff Burton (Metallica before they sucked), but only because Les Claypool from Primus and/or that dude from Rush are still alive

Drums- The man, the myth, the legend, the obvious choice...John Bonham

What a band! Could you imagine...

Read Stephen King's "You Know They Got a Hell of a band." From his collection called "Nightmares and Dreamscapes." Neat story.

However, your idea is a good one. I'd like to hear Bon Scott sing again.

The guy from Skynyrd was Ronnie Van Zandt.

And I think Ringo is going to be really dissapointed to find out he is dead.

I believe Roger Waters will be equally surprised to know that he is now dead, and I betcha Robert Johnson will be enlightened to know that he's considered a rock star!

Code3 ... that's a great lineup!

Randy Rhoades on guitar
I was trying to rember his name just yesterday.
He went out with a bang huh ?
The lead guitarist of rock star Ozzy Osbourne's band and two others were killed when a plane in which they were buzzing a mansion slammed flaming into the home.
If I rember right he was high as a kite and they cliped a van nicked a tree and went right into Ozzy's house.
Great player.

Randy Rhodes, Bonn Scott, Ronnie Van Zandt...all GREAT musicians. I forgot about those guys. Can't believe I forgot about Robert Johnson! While most wouldn't consider him a "rock star", he is the father of post-slavery era blues, which is the basis for most modern music, uh, or something.

In related news, Yanni, Zamfir, and Barry Manilow all lost their lives recently in a bizarre thumb wrestling accident. Upon their arrival in The Great Beyond, they tried out for the band, only to have their butts kicked back down to Earth. The band reportedly told the three "You get back down there mister and don't come back until you think about what you've done!"

i don't think that even if Ringo was dead that his drumming would improve, bottom-line Ringo is/was and average drummer. Bonzo would have used him for a drum-stick!

The bass player for the Who, John Entwhisle. He was one of the best bass players IMHO.
