51 F1 239 V8 - Fan Hub Exploded Illustration Available?

I am experiencing chatter in the fan hub. At least, I believe it is that, and will disconnect the generator belt and run the engine for a short while - then reconnect generator and disconnect fan - to confirm.

The hub has the screw to remove and oil then turn upside down and let oil out. When I put oil in now, it leaks out behind the hub.

I have the illustrated parts book, the shop manual, and the master repair manuals, none of which have this info or a picture. In fact they all say - except for the small truck manual - that the fan is non-lubricatable.

Question: Is there an exploded view of this hub I can view before embarking on disassembly?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-Jul-02 AT 08:50 PM (EST)]The fan hub is made to hold one once of motor oil. According to the Ford operators manual for 1951 F-1 thru F-8 with 8 cyl. engine.
1. remove screw, turn fan so oil drains out (protect fan belt from oil).
2. turn screw back to top, add one (1) once of motor oil and replace screw.
This should be done every 5000 miles.
In reading your question it sounds like you added oil and then drained it out.
The Ford shop manual from FTE does not show a breakdown of the fan.
Most parts are avalable for the fan except the main shaft, and this is the part that usually goes.
I had to replace the one on my truck when i bought it, found one at a auto recycling center(junk yard).
If this is your problem you may want to switch to a electric fan, if your truck has been switched to 12 volt.
I will try to dig up a picture of the fan assembly.

After posting this i re-read your question. Make sure you only add one once of regular motor oil. Any more and it will run out the back.
