Bed removal
What is all envolved in removing the bed off an 4x2 6cly 88 F-150? I looked or tryed to find it in my Haynes and did not see anything on it.
Any idea on how much it weighs?
I need to remove the fuel pump off the rear tank and I want to get a good look at the wiring to see if any needs replaced.
3 garages have tryed fixing my fuel probloms so now I am making the time to to it myself and right.

Don't forget to disconnect the fuel filler hoses from the door assemblies. Otherwise the bed ain't coming off.
I have no idea how much the bed weighs, but four average guys can lift it off if you do not have an engine crane available. Two big guys if you can balance it and the wheel wells aren't terribly rusty. You don't want to cut your fingers.
Here is how I did it, by myself, without any additional manpower. Made a simple extension for my engine crane, attached four chains to the corner bed bolts (which I removed from the frame rails), then jacked the thing right off the chassis, and drove out from under it.
