Lower ball joint "mount inboard" question
97 Expedition, 148,000K, 5.4 engine.
Replacing upper arm & ball joints and lower ball joints.
I bought Moog replacements. The upper ball joint is already installed in the new arm. My question is on the lower joint.
The rubber cover has a lineup mark that reads "mount inboard". The instructions say to place this mark and grease relief passage directly away from the wheel assembly. I'm assuming this means to point the mark towards the middle of the truck, oil pan, other wheel, etc..
Here's my confusion.. I haven't removed the ball joints on the right side of the truck yet. The right lower ball joint (I believe it's the original) has this mark also on the boot but it's facing towards the front of the truck or slightly towards the radiator.
Don't want to press these in incorrectly and would appreciate any help with this.
Thanks, Ken
