i am starting to put my 55 back togeather and was wondering if anyone has had bad luck if they didnt put it on. this will be a daily driver so it will be outside. the main reason why i dont want to put it on because you cand see it sticking out.

Dave

I believe you will have paint missing in the seams before you even drive it. I would think it would also have a tendency to squeak on rough roads. I suppose it depends where you live if that is a big tragedy to have possible bare metal. It would not be a good idea in the Midwest. As an alternate solution, you might be able to buy a roll off thin rubber stripping with no bead and use weatherstrip adhesive. I did that in places where I didn't want bead showing.

They do make Chrome like fender welting, that may look nice. Fender welting outlines the curves on the truck bringing out the fat fenders more, they also paint well.
