2006 Ford King Ranch DRW

I was thinking about buying a 2014 or 2015 truck but I am seriously looking at this truck. I have heard horror stories of the 6.0L diesel. Should I be frightened? He wants $32K. Price seems a little high. Any thoughts?

With only 7k miles, price seems fair. How many hours on it?

I just booked out my 05 XLT with 63k miles and it said $25k.

Don't be afraid of the 6.0...with a little TLC they are a great power plant with a bad rap.

As you can see the bid is $25K but he wants $32K. At $25K, I would buy it. But at $32K, I don't know. This is why I am asking for any input from other 6.0 owners. He wants over retail price which is $30,475.

Thumbs down Too old

Actually, after talking to others, the truck will need all new tires, fluids, belts. Basically, another $2,500 in parts to make sure it is safe to drive. Thanks for everyone's input but I am going to pass on this truck. It is just too old of a truck.

i would ask him what mods have been done to the truck. basically what kind of money he already threw at the truck. if he claims it's bone stock AND he hasn't replaced any parts yet, i'd be worried. i'd use that as a negotiation point, and see if he will come down some more, especially since u will have to put money into the truck to replace parts down the line.

my 05 king ranch kinda blue books for about 20k, so 32k is definitely on the high end with no current justification to show for it. wait for him to throw the magic words at u "it's all bone stock and nothing has been changed on the truck", then go ahead and hit him with that point about having to be responsible to change out common problem areas like the EGR cooler, oil cooler, HPOP, plus all those stuff u just mentioned like tires and stuff.

i'm kinda suspicious when it says only 7k miles on the odometer. i'd question it. it don't make sense. its about a 9 yr old car (2005 MY), and all he drives is less than 1000 miles a year? tat don't make any sense. be careful of scammers.

also, he may have replaced the motor and the odometer reading is from the "new" motor. if he's already replaced the motor, i'd ask him what caused him to replace the motor?

ur talking of a diesel motor. age should not be the problem. diesels run forever until u decide to junk the motor or u blow it out. i've seen ferns of mine with the IDI diesels and OBS diesels and they're much older and they're still running. i'd be more concerned about hidden facts and whatever that is not divulged. honesty nowadays have to be pried from people. remember, knowing is half the battle won, especially since we're going into the unknown to purchase a vehicle. good luck!

It looks like it might have the wide-track option? From the one picture... That isn't too common and something I wouldn't mind having....

Dom: we haven't hit 22K yet on ours, but 7K is low, likely pristine if it was garaged....

But tires, belts?? based on age or is there wear, which indeed suggests something other than advertised, as in run away...

yes dan. tats why i'm a little suspicious. we both know even to baby our trucks, u don't drive less than 1000 miles in a year??? to me, tats highly suspicious. could be reman motor in there. which leads me to the next question. if u had to put a reman motor in there, does tat mean the old one died? if it died, wat were the symptoms? wat were the causes of its demise?

also, the picture does not do it justice. it looks like it has fancy tires, but yet, the tires may need to be changed? then is tat a fake picture? maybe the "real" truck does not look like tat?

oh i got tons of questions. lol. but y'all get my drift. it's ur responsibility as the buyer to question everything. it's the seller's responsibility to reassure u. i learnt it the hard way. i jumped into my truck and i still find myself fixing old issues even to this day. i guess i must love her a lot. lol.

That price seems a bit high to me? I just bought my 06 King Ranch 2 months ago with 115K on it and paid $17,500. It didn't need a thing to pass inspection and looks like new inside and out. Also, has some very nice aftermarket additions to it such as the fully plumbed aux fuel tank/tool box in the bed.
