C 6 Weirdness
My 89 F-250 460/C6 4x4 makes a grinding/whirring noise when started cold. It's barely audible in Park but loud in any position other than Neutral or Park It slowly goes silent after about 30 to 40 secs. in gear. When sitting still you can make the noise start or stop instantly by switching between N or Dr. Fluid is clean and The trans works perfectly. It showed up when our temps dropped to freezing. It's not really the type of whirring that a steering pump would make, but seems a little more metalic. It always fades away gradually in less than a minute either sitting in gear or going down to the end of the block. Anybody have a clue? I sure could use some ideas. Thank's in advance for any help.
