I need to take my truck in for a couple recalls and an engine oil leak, I am looking for a dealer close to Downers Grove, or Kankakee. I am really looking to take it to a dealer with a good service department. I am an auto technician and have a hard time letting other people work on my vehicles call me ****... Diesels are something new to me and I am only looking to take it in for the recalls warranty work as needed..

I bought a car years and had it serviced at Do McClain's Ford in Manteno. Just north of Kankakee on Illinois highway 50. I was happy with their service dept. However this was back in 1988

Madden does have a Powerstroke mechanic and I have had them fix my truck once
otherwise, I have been going to GJOVIK FORD in Sandwich, deal with SERVICE MANAGER TOM
You def have to call HEAVY METAL PEROFRMANCE in Joliet, Ron Ritter is a great source of info and he used to work at Madded

Good Diesel techs seem to be far and few....
I now drive a V10 but have had 3 diesels in the last 7 years
After moving down this way 4 years ago outside of Kankakee I've found
my best bet was Ct. St. Ford.
They got a tech there that seems to be a all around decent guy.
I had some issues with my new truck (V10) that I bought there, had a chat with the owner and things changed instantly to my satisfaction.
I've been to several other dealers in the area with diesel problems
and for the most part the techs seemed clueless?

I know its a bit far but where I live in Dekalb there is Brad Manning Ford who has a master mecanic.
