Getting Title for 59 F-250

with the purchase of my new toy(59 f-250 4x4) i bought the truck
minus a title, and just a bill of sale, the gentleman said when he bought the truck, there were no titles given in NY in 59, just
ownership papers(bill of sale) ,how can i get a title for
this truck???
