So the block is a 1963 casting meant for the Falcon line that was installed at the factory.
Looks like it is probably the original engine.

Thanks!

You will also need all of the linkage and brackets (and a steering column would be nice too).
Best to find a 65-67 auto parts van.
I am going to redo a '62. I bought a 67 SuperDuty with a 240 and C-4 for $500. Along with the engine/tranny, I get the bonus of the bigger rear end pumpkin and brakes.

Thanks for the help. I will go looking for one. I am building a "Mystery Machine" from Scooby Doo out of the van and want it to be able to drive around comfortably.
Three more quick questions...
1 - How can I tell which engine I have?
2 - Can I use an underfloor bower brake kit to make the van power brakes?
3 - How can I tell which rear-end I have?
Thank you VERY much for all the help!

2. PB was an option in 1967, but good luck finding a unit.
3. The axle ratio will also be on the door tag. The ratio is also listed on the pumpkin tag. Does your axle still have the tag? (Once again, assuming that it hasn't been changed out).

Sorry to jump in but, were did you decode that VIN#? I have a friend who is trying fo find out some info on a van he might buy. I've been trying to come up with anything and have had no luck, until now. The VIN I'm trying to decode is E14SH357847. Any info would be greatly apreciated! John.
