'55 frame fit a '48?

There's a guy interested in the frame of my parts truck (about all that anyone should even fool with- the bod is shot).
He sez he has a '48 body in super shape, and the 'ol man that started the resto process passed on, leaving no word where the frame had been sent out.

So- is there enough commonality here that I can offer this with a clear concience or is there so much body hanging hardware difference etc that he's better off looking for real F-1, not bignose frame?

I am not absolutely sure that the 48 will not fit the F100 frame but I do know that the 48-52 frames are two inches more narrow in the front than the F100 frames. As far as a drop on for the F1 body I seriously doubt that it would work without alot of modification.
